HOUSTY Joins Designer Po Chun Tu at Design Shanghai 2026 World's First Circular Screw-Driven Homelift Makes Its Debut
“Ascending as a Philosophy of Life” — Exploring a New Paradigm of Vertical Mobility in High-End Residences
From March 19 to 22, 2026, the premium villa homelift brand HOUSTY joined forces with renowned spatial designer Po Chun Tu at Design Shanghai 2026. As Asia’s leading international design event, this year’s edition gathered design talent from across the globe. Under the theme “Ascending as a Philosophy of Life,” HOUSTY officially unveiled the world’s first circular screw-driven homelift, drawing widespread attention from both the industry and the design community.

Po Chun Tu, founder of PRID International Design, has received numerous international design awards, including Germany’s Red Dot Award and the iF Design Award. His representative projects include the VERSACE showroom in Italy, the HOLFFMANN showroom in France, and Tomson Riviera in Shanghai. This year’s booth was personally designed by Tu, who built a spatial rhythm through vertical cadence and the interplay of light and shadow, reinforcing the visual metaphor of a “graceful ascent.” In his view, one of the core tensions surrounding villa homelifts in first-tier cities is space occupation: traditional homelift shafts often require a large reserved footprint, which—against a backdrop of high property prices—means not only wasted cost and floor area but also diminished layout freedom for designers. HOUSTY’s screw-driven homelift solution, which requires no pre-built shaft or pit, offers greater flexibility for retrofitting existing buildings and for fine-grained space planning.

To present the smooth, curved structure of the circular screw-driven homelift, HOUSTY’s engineering team comprehensively redeveloped and re-calibrated the screw drive system, platform load-bearing structure, and safety standards, breaking the rigid spatial division imposed by traditional square homelifts. The product supports multi-directional door-opening options on every floor and allows different door configurations on different floors, aligning circulation more closely with spatial logic and family usage habits. Also making its debut at the show was Design Shanghai’s first four-sided panoramic screw-driven homelift — the HE Pro platform-style four-sided panoramic model. The series is equipped with a imported Swedish helical six-start screw drive system, engineered to the more stringent European standard EN 81-41 and the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. It has earned EU CE certification, ISO 9001 international quality management system certification, and TÜV Rheinland certification, and holds dozens of core patented technologies.

When it comes to delivery and service, Tu stresses that “execution is the most direct form of persuasion.” He recalls visiting an installation site where HOUSTY’s technicians arranged their tools in neat order and followed standardized procedures—small habits that, in his view, often determine the final quality of delivery. HOUSTY stated that it will continue to collaborate with more designers, driving the homelift from a single functional fixture toward a higher dimension of spatial expression and living experience.
